Pride & Prejustice inspired engagement shoot
A Timeless Romance in the Pacific Northwest
Some love stories feel like they belong in a novel—filled with longing glances, unspoken words, and moments that feel like fate. When Nette and Michael reached out, they knew exactly how they wanted their engagement session to feel: like a scene straight out of Pride & Prejudice.
The Pacific Northwest’s misty forests and quiet lakes felt like the perfect setting for their vision. They weren’t looking for just any engagement session—they wanted a cinematic experience, something that would transport them back to this chapter of their lives every time they looked at their photos.
And so, on a drizzly afternoon, with a bicycle in tow, we set out to capture their story.
A Rain-Soaked Love Story: Nette & Michael’s Pride & Prejudice-Inspired Engagement Session

Why a Pride & Prejudice-Themed Engagement Photoshoot?
Nette has always adored the 2005 adaptation of Pride & Prejudice, especially the final scene where Darcy walks toward Elizabeth at dawn, the mist weaving between them as emotions rise to the surface. That moment—raw, intimate, and timeless—was the essence she wanted for their engagement session.
Their love story, much like the novel’s, is one of deep understanding, mutual respect, and a romance that has withstood the test of time. From long-distance challenges to building a life together in the PNW, they have grown together in a way that feels truly poetic.
The Mood: Rain, Motion, and Nostalgia
We chose a secluded dock surrounded by towering evergreens, with the stillness of the water reflecting the moody sky above. The rain arrived right on cue, softening every detail, making everything feel a little more dreamlike.
Instead of posing rigidly, Nette and Michael leaned into the movement—walking hand in hand, running through the rain, and letting the moment unfold naturally. The blurred motion in some frames wasn’t just an artistic choice; it was intentional. It mirrored the fleeting, in-between moments of love—the kind that feel like a beautiful memory slipping just out of reach.
Their vintage-inspired outfits, the classic bicycle, and the way they moved together all added to the romantic, old-world charm. It wasn’t about perfection; it was about capturing something real.

Why the Pacific Northwest is the Perfect Backdrop for Moody Engagement Photos
Seattle and the surrounding PNW landscapes are perfect for couples who love adventure, romance, and a little bit of drama in their photos. The ever-changing light, the misty atmosphere, and the lush greenery make it a dream setting for engagement and elopement photography.
If you're a couple who isn’t afraid of the rain and wants engagement photos that feel authentic, nostalgic, and cinematic, this might just be the perfect inspiration for your own session.
Bringing Your Love Story to Life Through Photography
For Nette and Michael, these photos weren’t just about celebrating their engagement; they were about capturing who they are in this season of life. The rain, the movement, and the soft, nostalgic tones all came together to tell a story that feels like home to them.
If you’re dreaming of an engagement session that’s more than just posed portraits—one that feels like a scene from your favorite movie or the pages of a book—let’s make it happen. Your love story deserves to be told in a way that feels uniquely you.
